Wolf Becher (born May 6, 1862 in Filehne , Prussia ; died April 29, 1906 in Berlin-Schlachtensee ) was a German internist and tuberculosis researcher.

Life

Wolf Becher attended high school in Filehne and studied medicine in Berlin from 1882. He received his doctorate with a dissertation on the forest recreation site from the Red Cross in Schönholz . Becher was from 1889 to 1892 assistant at the Litten'schen Poliklinik ( Moritz Litten ) for internal diseases and from 1893 worked in his private practice. Becher did research on cholera and the possibilities of the new X-ray technology .

In 1899, together with Rudolph Lennhoff , he published a study on the living conditions of tuberculous workers and developed the idea of forest recreation sites , in which children and adults should be given the option of tuberculosis prophylaxis. Both put forward this proposal at the 1899 Tuberculosis Congress.
