Wolferszell is a district of the Steinach community in the Lower Bavarian district of Straubing-Bogen in the Agendorf district .

The village of Wolferszell is located on the Kinsach about one kilometer northeast of Steinach.
history
The area around Wolferszell is ancient settlement land. The finds from the barrows near Hoerabach and Muckenwinkling show that people lived here in the Bronze Age around 3,500 years ago, who mostly burned their dead and buried the remains in burial mounds. Around 1147 the noble Gerhoch de Wolfoltescella is called, who set out on a crusade and probably had his castle on the Kapflberg east of Wolferszell. He was a ministerial of the Counts of Bogen and determined that half of his goods in Woluoltescella should go to the monasteries Oberaltaich and Münster after his death and the death of his wife .
According to the Duke Surbar from around 1228/1241, Wolfotzell was one of the few ducal estates in the area. In the tax register of 1516 Wolferszell is listed as Hofmark , but no longer in the court register of 1599. 1811 Wolfer cell formed its own tax district , however, was not at the community education 1818/1821 Wolfer cell hosting the municipal services, but only half as large, but more centrally located Agendorf , which also gave the community its name. Together with the larger part of this municipality, Wolferszell fell to the municipality of Steinach on July 1, 1974 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria .
