Wolfgang & Anneliese Funzfichler are fictional stage characters from the German comedy scene . They are played regularly by Bastian Pastewka and Anke Engelke , who have already worked together on the weekly show .

Wolfgang and Anneliese Funzfichler represent a Bavarian folk music couple. During their performances, they wear folk costumes and speak with the Bavarian dialect . You have been in show business for more than 30 years. Their marriage is in turmoil because of Wolfgang's urge to commit adultery, but the couple tries to keep this fact a secret from their audience.

Various media and critics see connections between the fictional characters and real folk music couples such as Marianne and Michael . Anke Engelke, however, denies having based her role on real people.

Appearances of the characters

Wolfgang and Anneliese Funzfichler first appeared on December 17, 2007 with their Christmas show Merry Christmas - With Wolfgang & Anneliese on Sat.1 . In September 2009 they hosted the gala of the German Television Award 2009 . The following winter her second show Merry Christmas! and the couple was featured in the December issue of Wetten dass ..? to guest. In May 2011, another program was broadcast under the title Happy Spring , in which David Hasselhoff and the magician Hans Klok appeared as guest stars. On the occasion of the publication of their first book Our Beautiful Germany , Wolfgang and Anneliese presented themselves in November 2011 in the TV total and in the Harald Schmidt Show . On December 11, 2011, Wolfgang and Anneliese performed at the annual review Menschen 2011 on ZDF with Hape Kerkeling and sang the song 2011 was beautiful, written especially for the occasion . On September 8, 2012, they were well-wishers at "40 years of HÖHNER - Das Fest" in the Tanzbrunnen in Cologne. In 2013 they appeared on February 9th at the carnival show of the show TV total . On December 20, 2013 they could be seen in Pastewka's Christmas story on Sat.1.
