Wolfgang Becker (born May 28, 1968 in Trier ) is a German chef .

Career

Following his apprenticeship as a winemaker, he trained as a chef in 1989. After various restaurant followed in 1992, the restaurant Imperial Hotel Bühlerhöhe and 1994, the three-star restaurant Schwarzwaldstube with Harald Wohlfahrt in Baiersbronn .1994 returned Becker in the family business and took over in 1997 with his wife, the family, which also includes the winery Becker's part .

The wine house was awarded a Michelin star in 2000. In 2005, Becker acquired the neighboring property and two years later opened a new building adjacent to the main building and thus the Becker's Hotel and Restaurant . The new building offered the right ambience for his kitchen. The second star followed in 2009. The Becker's Weinhaus has been preserved in its old style, and country-style cuisine made from high-quality products is served here.

A selection of international wines and wines from our own production are served in the Becker's gourmet restaurant as well as in the hotel's wine house and wine bar . Wolfgang and Christine Becker are the fifth generation to run the winery today.

In June 2013, Becker opened Becker 's XO in Trier , a combination of restaurant , bar and delicatessen shop . The Becker's XO received several awards for the concept. To finance the project, he founded Becker's Genuss AG. In 2015 it went bankrupt and Becker's XO was closed.
