Wolfgang Blatt

Wolfgang Blatt (born October 27, 1932 in Wildschütz ) is a former German football player. For progress Weissenfels he played 51 games from 1958 to 1960 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

At the age of eight, Wolfgang Blatt began to play football with Teuchern in Trebnitz . Even as a teenager, he distinguished himself as an accurate striker and in 1952 played in the selection team of the GDR sports association Turbine . In 1957 he moved to the major division progress Weissenfels.

After sheet was initially only used in the reserve team, he was nominated by coach Herbert Worbs in 1958 as a center forward in the first league game. After another attempt on the third matchday, he temporarily lost his place in the league team and was only used there four times by the end of the season. In the 1959 season, sheet made the leap into the regular eleven. He was initially called up as a right winger, but scored only three goals in fourteen missions. Thereupon coach Worbs moved him to midfield for the last five point games. Even under the new coach Gerhard glasses , sheet remained midfielder in 1960 and was used in all 26 point games.

After the 1960 season progress Weißenfels had to relegate to the GDR league . There he played 73 of 125 point games for Weißenfels by 1965. He let his football career come to an end in the Weissenfels team's second team until 1968.
