Wolfgang Brenneisen

Wolfgang Brenneisen (born January 5, 1941 in Tilsit ) is a German author and visual artist.

life and work

Wolfgang Brenneisen grew up in Upper Swabia. He studied German , English and philosophy and graduated with both teaching examinations. Until 2002 he worked as a teacher. He spent a year in Great Britain and started doing fine arts in 1970. 1974/75 he was a visiting student at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart with Rudolf Hoflehner . As an artist, he has had several solo exhibitions and numerous exhibition participations in southern Germany.

Since 1984 Brenneisen published numerous books, whereby the humorous-satirical element was often in the foreground. His works have been published by publishers such as Rowohlt and W. Heyne . Brenneisen has also written three volumes of poetry, eight children's books, nine radio plays and one play. Another successful focus of his work is the preoccupation with his native Swabia and the Swabian dialect . As a contributor to renowned German newspapers, the author wrote about 240 articles, including eight poetry interpretations for the Frankfurt anthology by Marcel Reich-Ranicki in the FAZ .
