Wolfgang Dürheimer (born June 20, 1958 in Martinszell im Allgäu ) is an engineer and manager who has worked for many years as a development director at Porsche and as chairman of the board at Bentley . Wolfgang Dürheimer is a graduate engineer in vehicle technology and a graduate industrial engineer with degrees from the Munich University of Applied Sciences . In 1984 he started his career at BMW .

In 1999 the engineer switched to Porsche AG . There he was appointed to the Board of Management for Research and Development in 2001. Among other things, the Cayenne , Panamera , Carrera GT, the RS Spyder and 911 GT3 R Hybrid racing cars, the 997 generation of the Porsche 911 and the 918 Spyder concept were created under his leadership . After the takeover of Porsche by Volkswagen , Dürheimer became CEO of Bentley and President of Bugatti in 2011 . Since then, he has also been responsible for Group motorsport as a general representative of the Volkswagen Group. From September 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013, Dürheimer was Head of Development at Audi .

On June 1, 2014, Wolfgang Dürheimer was reappointed Brand Board Member for Bentley and Bugatti.

Awards

Dürheimer was named Man of the Year 2010 by Top Gear magazine for the 918 Spyder concept study .

In 2016, he received the Personality of the Year award from the German automobile magazine Auto Bild Sportscars .
