Wolfgang Eiba
Wolfgang Maria Eiba (* 8. November 1871 in Wolnzach , † 3. August 1927 ibid ) was a Benedictine monk and the first abbot of the re-established monastery Plankstetten .
Life
Eiba attended high schools in Ingolstadt and Metten . He then studied theology in Regensburg. 1897 he entered the Scheyern Monastery . On August 2, 1897, he was ordained a priest in the archbishop's house chapel in Munich. His profession followed on January 15, 1898. He then worked as a cellar educator and economist in Scheyern, Ettal and Plankstetten. In 1906 he became prior in Plankstetten. In 1907 he had a turbine installed in the snow mill in the village of Eglasmühle , opened the agricultural school in Plankstetten and took over its management. In 1911 and 1912 he had a water pipe built. 1917 Plankstetten was raised to an independent abbey and Eiba was on May 8, 1917 by King Ludwig III. appointed first abbot. He died of kidney disease in his sister's house and was buried in the monastery church.
