Wolfgang Fenner

Wolfgang Fenner (born June 8, 1934 in Leipzig ) is a German traffic engineer . Between 1972 and 1997 he was professor and holder of the chair / institute for railway safety technology at the University of Transport (HfV; from 1992: Faculty of Transport Science "Friedrich List" , Technical University of Dresden ).

Life

From 1952 Fenner studied security and telecommunications technology at the University of Transport (HfV). After graduating in 1956, he worked as a research assistant at the chair for railway safety technology. In 1961 he took up additional studies at the Leningrad University of Railways (LISShT). In 1962 he received his doctorate from the Dresden Transport University.

In 1963, Fenner took up a job as a research assistant in the testing and development center for security and telecommunications at the Deutsche Reichsbahn . In 1964 he was appointed head of the main administration for the security and telecommunications of the Deutsche Reichsbahn.

In 1971 he was qualified to teach at the HfV. On September 1, 1972, he was appointed full professor for traffic safety technology at the traffic cybernetics section of the University of Transportation. From 1972 to 1997 he held the professorship for traffic safety technology there (from 1992 at the newly established Faculty of Traffic Sciences at the TU Dresden). In the meantime, in 1986, he had a PhD B as Dr. sc. techn. (converted to Dr.-Ing.habil. in 1991 ). His successor at the professorship is Jochen Trinckauf .

He lives in Coswig .
