Wolfgang Göbel (theologian)

Wolfgang Göbel (born February 15, 1940 in Gelsenkirchen-Horst ; † March 29, 2016 in Trier ) was a German Roman Catholic theologian.

Life

After graduating from the Max Planck High School in Gelsenkirchen-Buer , he studied philosophy and Catholic theology at the Albertus Magnus Academy in Walberberg and at the universities of Münster , Cologne and Tübingen from 1959 . In the winter semester of 1972/1973 he passed the state examination in the subjects of Catholic theology and philosophy and then worked as a research assistant at the Chair of Theological Ethics with special emphasis on social sciences ( Wilhelm Korff ) of the Catholic Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen .

In the winter semester 1997/98 he was appointed to the chair for moral theology at the Theological Faculty Trier , which he held until his retirement in 2008.
