Wolfgang Harlan
Carl Wolfgang Harlan (born August 21, 1882 in Dresden ; † December 15, 1951 in Frankfurt am Main ) was an aircraft engineer and entrepreneur.
Life
In 1906, he founded one of the first car taxi companies in Berlin . In 1910 he turned to aircraft construction. His company, Harlan-Flugzeugwerke GmbH at the Johannisthal airfield , produced the Harlan monoplane, which was built in several versions until 1911. Several prices and records could be flown with his aircraft. In September 1913 , Hermann Reichelt made a stage flight of 1025 km from Johannisthal to Villacoublay with a Harlan monoplane . Due to a lack of orders, Harlan gave up aircraft construction in the spring of 1914.
