Wolfgang Hertinger

Wolfgang Hertinger (* 1950 in Bobenheim ) was President of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Criminal Police Office in Mainz from July 1, 2009 to February 2015 . He succeeded Hans-Heinrich Preußinger in this office and is the predecessor of Johannes Kunz .

Career

Hertinger grew up in Mainz. After graduating from high school in 1969, he joined the Rhineland-Palatinate police . After completing his training, Hertinger was deployed in the riot police and the protective police at the Mainz police headquarters . Hertinger then switched to the criminal investigation department , where he performed various functions. In 1982 he was promoted to the higher police service at the Police Leadership Academy in Münster-Hiltrup . After completing his training, he was employed in the state criminal investigation office in Mainz for questions of principle before he became head of the criminal investigation department of the Worms police department. In 1987 he moved to the Ministry of the Interior. There he headed the Crime Prevention Unit / Control Center before he was appointed President of the State Criminal Police Office.
