Wolfgang Herzberg

Wolfgang Herzberg (* 1944 in Leicester ) is a German publicist of biographical interview books, author of rock texts, songs and poems .

life and work

Wolfgang Herzberg was born in Leicester / England in 1944 as the son of Jewish-German emigrants . He has lived in Berlin since 1947 . He studied cultural studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin . From 1974 to 1979 he worked as a freelance researcher, editor and assistant director for documentary film and television in the GDR . From 1980 he worked as a freelance writer.

Wolfgang Herzberg is the brother of André Herzberg .

He became known to a broader public in the GDR through the lyrics for the rock spectacles Paule Panke and Hans im Glück , which were written by him under the pseudonym Frauke Klauke and musically staged by the Berlin rock band Pankow .

The book Der Sturz: Honecker in cross-examination , which was written together with Reinhold Andert , received a lot of attention , in which the authors try to penetrate into the thoughts of Erich and Margot Honecker after the end of the GDR.
