Wolfgang Ibel (born June 11, 1934 in Limburg an der Lahn ) is a former Hessian politician ( CDU ) and member of the Hessian state parliament . Ibel is married and has four children.

After graduating from high school in Limburg, Wolfgang Ibel worked in the judicial service from 1953, most recently as a judicial officer. From 1959 to 1964 Ibel was district chairman, 1963 to 1968 member of the district and 1968 to 1970 state board of the Junge Union . Since 1969 he was district chairman of the Limburg district and the Limburg-Weilburg district . In local politics he was active as a member of the district assembly since 1960 and led the CDU parliamentary group in the district assembly from 1968 to 1970. From March 1, 1970, when he replaced Theo Michaely , until 1991 Ibel was a member of the Hessian state assembly. Ibel was a member of the Federal Assembly in 1974 and 1984 . From June 20, 1984 he was chairman of the Committee on Public Service Questions. After the fall of the Wall he became President of the Thuringian Court of Audit .
