Wolfgang Kessler (journalist)

Wolfgang Kessler (born September 24, 1953 in Ravensburg ) is a German journalist .

Life

Kessler studied economics in Konstanz , Bristol and at the London School of Economics and Political Science . During his studies he also got involved with Amnesty International . After receiving his doctorate in 1982, he worked for the International Monetary Fund until 1983 .

Then he worked as a journalist. In 1991 he started as head of the “Politics and Society” department at the Christian magazine Publik-Forum . From 1999 to 2019 he was editor-in-chief there. He also writes for other newspapers such as the Frankfurter Rundschau , the Badische Zeitung , the daily newspaper , the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (CH), the Aufbruch (CH) or the newspapers for German and international politics .

In addition, he gives lectures, e.g. B. at the Kirchentag in Cologne in 2007, for which he was honored with the Bremen Peace Prize in the same year .

In 2020 he will receive the Walter and Marianne Dirks Prize for his many years of professional work .

family

Wolfgang Kessler is married and has one son.
