Wolfgang Kirsch (born February 18, 1950 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

After completing school and high school at the Liebig-Gymnasium in Frankfurt, Kirsch studied law in Berlin and Bonn from 1968 . After completing both state examinations, he also received a doctorate in law. The career path began with a job at the Federal Office for Civil Protection in Bad Godesberg . On April 28, 1980, he moved to the city of Wipperfürth in the Oberbergischer Kreis as city ​​director .

Political activity

Kirsch was already politically active during his studies. In the RCDS he was federal manager and deputy federal chairman.

From 1975 to 1980 Kirsch was a member of the Bonn City Council and planning policy spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group.

Since January 1, 1987, Kirsch worked as a senior district director in the Warendorf district . After his first term of office, he was unanimously confirmed in his office as senior district director in January 1995 with the votes of all four parliamentary groups in the district. In the district elections in September 1999, Kirsch was able to prevail with 60.3 percent of the vote in the first ballot and became the first full-time district administrator. In 2004 they were re-elected in the first ballot.

From 2006, Kirsch succeeded Wolfgang Schäfer as director of the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association . His term of office ended on June 30, 2014, and Matthias Löb was his successor . Kirsch then became managing director of the Association of RWE Municipal Shareholders, where he is supposed to represent Westphalian interests vis-à-vis RWE .
