Wolfgang Korn (born August 10, 1958 in Lünen ) is a German journalist and non-fiction author of books on archaeological , historical and economic topics.

Life

Wolfgang Korn was born in 1958 and grew up in Lünen in the Ruhr area. He studied history and political science in Berlin. At the same time he was active as a squatter in Kreuzberg for several years. After completing his studies, he first worked as a construction assistant, cook and in a junk shop before completing a journalism course in Tübingen.

Korn worked as an editor in the press office of the University of Tübingen , then as press spokesman for the University of Stuttgart and for the party Die Grünen , before working as a freelance science journalist for the publications Die Zeit , Weltwoche, NZZ , Bild der Wissenschaft and Geo since 1992 worked.

Wolfgang Korn worked in the press office of the University of Tübingen in 1990, when its scientists began excavations in Troy . In the following time he reported as a freelance knowledge author on these and other excavations around the Mediterranean, in the Near and Far East and in Central America, first for newspapers and magazines, then in non-fiction books. He became known for his narrative books for young people on archaeological and social topics.
