Wolfgang Möhrig-Marothi
Wolfgang Möhrig-Marothi (born Wolfgang Möhrig ; * 1947 in Johanngeorgenstadt ) is a German writer and editor.
Life
Wolfgang Möhrig, who comes from the Ore Mountains , obtained his secondary school leaving certificate in Aue and completed an apprenticeship in retail trade with a technical college entrance qualification from 1964 to 1966. He then took over the management of a sales point in Eibenstock . During this time he passed the Abitur externally in order to study Protestant theology at the University of Greifswald and the University of Erfurt until 1975 . So he left the GDR and lived in Bamberg for a long time. In 1979 he published his first work, the witch, magic and spook stories from the Blocksberg by Johannes Praetorius . After 1990 Wolfgang Möhrig returned to Saxony, where he lived as a freelance writer, first in Johanngeorgenstadt, then in Jägersgrün and finally in Kottenheide in Vogtland . The main focus of his publications is the publication of sagas, including Miriquidis Raunen. Saxon and Bohemian sagas from the western Hocherzgebirge (Johanngeorgenstadt and surroundings) (7 volumes, 1988-2018). He earned lasting merits a. a. through the new edition of the works of Christian Gottlob Wild .
