Wolfgang Matschke

Wolfgang Matschke (born September 28, 1937 in Bad Reinerz , Lower Silesia Province ; † November 3, 2006 ) was a German lawyer.

Life

Wolfgang Matschke studied law at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg and the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In 1963 he passed the first state law examination and in 1966 the second state examination. From 1967 he worked as a lawyer. In 1970 he was in Frankfurt with the work of the detention of the debtor in bankruptcy proceedings and the Basic Law for Dr. iur. PhD. In 1977 he was admitted as a notary. In 1968 he joined the firm Schiedermair & Partner , which was merged with the major law firm Oppenhoff & Rädler and later Linklaters , where he worked as a senior partner, particularly in the foundation sector.

In 1996 Matschke was elected President of the Hesse Lawyers' Court . He was a board member of the Frankfurt am Main Bar Association (1973–1981), the Frankfurt Bar Association (1970–1990) and the German Bar Association (1979–1987).

Wolfgang Matschke held numerous honorary positions. Since 1972 he was a member of the Senckenberg Society for Nature Research and its board member. In 2004 he was elected chairman of the board of trustees of the Sankt Georgen University Foundation . He was a member of the advisory board of the Federal Association of German Foundations and an initiator and co-founder of the Frankfurter Stiftungen eV initiative

In 1971 he was appointed Knight of the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher by Cardinal Grand Master Eugène Cardinal Tisserant and invested in the Konstanz Minster on May 15, 1971 by Lorenz Cardinal Jaeger , Grand Prior of the German Lieutenancy, and Hermann Josef Abs , Lieutenant in Germany. He was an officer of the order. He was involved in numerous social projects in the Holy Land .
