Wolfgang Peukert (born June 9, 1958 in Karlsruhe , Germany ) is a German process engineer .

Life

Wolfgang Peukert studied chemical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and was founded in 1990 at the Institute of Mechanical Process Engineering with the theme The combined trapping particles and gases in scrubbers doctorate . After seven years in the development department of the Japanese Hosokawa Group, he became a full professor for process engineering at the Technical University of Munich in 1998 . In 2003 he moved to the chair for solid and interfacial process engineering at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg .

Wolfgang Peukert is married and has one son.

Act

Peukert works in the particle technology branch of process engineering. In this area he investigates the influence of particle properties on the properties of disperse systems , i.e. In other words, he researches the basics in order to be able to specifically develop new materials according to the technical specifications. He primarily investigates particles with sizes in the submicrometer and nanometer range , where the surface properties have a greater influence than the volume properties. His results in this area were honored in 2005 with the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz Prize .
