Wolfgang Pietsch (born January 12, 1955 in Cottbus ) is a former German football player in defense . He played for BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

Pietsch played in his youth from 1964 to 1966 at SC Cottbus and then in the youth department of BSG Energie Cottbus. On December 8, 1973 he made his debut in the league season 1983/74 , when the 1: 2 win against BSG Stahl Riesa was in the starting line-up. Pietsch then moved to BSG Lokomotive Cottbus in the second-rate GDR league, where he only stayed one year. In 1975 he returned to Energie Cottbus and played nine games in which he scored a goal. The goal he succeeded in the 1975/76 season on April 28, 1976 (23rd matchday), when Cottbus caught up against FC Carl Zeiss Jena a 3-0 deficit in the last ten minutes of the game. Pietsch was with the NVA between 1976 and 1977 before rejoining Energie Cottbus. In the following three GDR league seasons he came to 33 missions and scored seven goals. Pietsch then moved to season D of the GDR league for promoted TSG Lübbenau 63 for a year . There he scored one goal in twelve games, but could not prevent relegation. For the following season 1981/82 he joined the GDR league promoted BSG Robur Zittau , with whom he also relegated after a year. After that, he did not return to higher-class football.
