Wolfgang Sandhowe (born December 14, 1953 in Ascheberg ) is a former German soccer player and today's soccer coach . He is currently training the TuS Makkabi Berlin .
Career as a player
Although Sandhowe grew up near Münster and played in the surrounding clubs, he was not discovered by Prussia Münster , but by the then second division club KSV Baunatal in 1978. After their relegation, he moved to FSV Frankfurt in 1979 and after only one year to Preußen Münster to qualify for the single-track 2nd Bundesliga with Münster. In those three years, Sandhowe played 105 games and scored 25 goals.
After failing to qualify Sandhowe continued his career at Oberliga side continued before he finished 1,985th
Career as a coach
After Sandhowe had acquired his football instructor license at the Sports University in Cologne in 1986 , Hermann Gerland brought him to the amateurs of VfL Bochum . In 1987 Sandhowe became Jupp Derwall's Kotrainer at Galatasaray Istanbul . After returning from Turkey, Sandhowe worked for more than ten years as a coach for various Oberliga and regional league teams. Until July 2007 he coached the upper division Hammer SpVg . After a long break, he returned to 1. FC Lok Stendal in the association league Saxony-Anhalt in spring 2009 and trained the team until the end of the 2009/10 season. Then he took over the second team of 1. FC Magdeburg . In March 2011 he took over the first team of 1. FC Magdeburg, initially until the end of the season, after his predecessor Ruud Kaiser had been given leave of absence due to continued unsuccessfulness. After he had achieved relegation with the FCM, he received a one-year contract until June 30, 2012. After an unsatisfactory start to the season with only one win out of ten games, he was released from his duties in October 2011.
In the second half of the 2016/17 season he took over the coaching position at the association league club Berliner SC . For the 2018/19 season he became the new coach at Türkiyemspor Berlin . After his release there, he took over the coaching position at TuS Makkabi Berlin for the 2019/20 season .
