Wolfgang Schlagwein

Wolfgang Schlagwein (born February 20, 1957 in Bad Neuenahr ) is a German politician ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ). From 2015 to 2016 he was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament .

education and profession

After graduating from the Peter-Joerres-Gymnasium in 1976, Schlagwein studied history and geography for the teaching post in Bonn from 1976 to 1981. After passing his first state examination, he worked from 1981 to 1982 for one and a half years as a community service provider and rescue worker in the rescue service of the German Red Cross . He then completed his preparatory service for the teaching post in Düren , which he completed in 1985 with the 2nd state examination. Due to the lack of prospects for admission to the school service, Schlagwein decided to work full-time in the rescue service. He then completed a one-year training course as an organizational programmer in 1988 and worked from 1989 until he took over the state parliament mandate in January 2015 in the computer center of the Oberfinanzdirektion Koblenz .

Political career

Schlagwein has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 1985. In the municipal elections in Rhineland-Palatinate in 1989 , he was elected to the city council of Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler and a member of the Ahrweiler district council. From 2001 to 2011 he was spokesman for the Ahrweiler district association of the Greens.

On January 2, 2015, he replaced the resigned MP Ulrich Steinbach in the state parliament, to which he was a member until the end of the legislative period. Schlagwein is a member of the administrative board of Kreissparkasse Ahrweiler and a member of the supervisory board of Ahrtalwerke GmbH.
