Wolfgang Schumann (politician)

Wolfgang Schumann (born June 5, 1929 in Stargard ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending elementary school Reetz 1935 to 1939 he attended from 1939 to 1945 high school Arnswalde and fell into Soviet captivity. From 1949 to 1950 he attended the forestry college in Eberswalde to train as a senior forest service. In 1953 he fled to the Federal Republic and worked as an auxiliary forester in the Hermeskeil community until 1954 . From 1954 to 1977 he was a forest management officer at the Windesheim Forestry Management Association . With the visit to the VWA Rhineland-Palatinate, he acquired the administrative diploma.

Political party

Schumann has been a member of the SPD since 1958. He was chairman of the local SPD association in Windesheim and the Langenlonsheim association working group. In addition, he was deputy SPD district chairman in Bad Kreuznach and deputy SPD chairman of the Bad Kreuznach-Birkenfeld sub-district.

Landtag Rhineland-Palatinate

Schumann became a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament on November 28, 1977 . He moved up for the late Wilhelm Dröscher . In the state election in 1979 he was re-elected, but resigned on September 5, 1979. out of the parliament. In the 9th electoral term he was a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Viticulture and Forestry and the Committee on the Environment.

Communal functions

From 1960 to 1974 Schumann was a member of the official representation or the municipal council of the Langenlonsheim association . He was a member of the Bad Kreuznach district council from 1968 to 1972. He then held the position of district deputy until 1979. He was then mayor of the Meisenheim community for 15 years until 1994 . In addition, from 1984 to 1999 city mayor of Meisenheim .

Other engagement

Schumann has been a member of the horticulture, agriculture and forestry trade union since 1954 and was chairman of the regional forest officials group from 1972 to 1974.
