Wolfgang Will

Wolfgang Will (born December 15, 1948 in Bamberg ) is a German ancient historian .

Wolfgang Will received his doctorate in 1979 at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg with the thesis Athens and Alexander. Studies on the history of the city from 338–322 BC Chr. He has taught since 1982 as Senior Researcher at the Department of Ancient History at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms University in Bonn . His habilitation took place in 2001, after which he taught as a private lecturer . For the New Pauly , Wolfgang Will contributed a large number of prosopographic articles on Roman history.

At the completion of his 65th year of life he was honored with a festschrift.
