Wolfgang Zimmermann (trade unionist)

Wolfgang Zimmermann (born January 2, 1910 in Freising ; † July 9, 2000 ) was a German lawyer and trade unionist.

Live and act

Zimmermann left the humanistic grammar school in Freising with the Abitur, studied law at the University of Munich and successfully passed the two state law exams. In 1937 he joined the former Reich Finance Administration in the district of the Oberfinanzdirektion Dresden , three years later he was transferred to the Rosenheim tax office . In the Second World War he was used in military service and was a prisoner of war. After his release he worked in the Bavarian financial administration until 1975, most recently as head of the Munich tax office for corporations and group leader at OFD Munich . He was also active as a teacher at a finance school, member and later chairman of the main staff council of the State Ministry of Finance , chairman of the Association of Tax Officials in Bavaria and then its honorary chairman, board member and main board member of the Bund Deutscher Steuererbeamter and main board member of the German Association of Officials . From 1972 to 1977 he was a member of the Bavarian Senate for the group of trade unions.
