Wolfram Enzfelder

Wolfram Enzfelder (born February 15, 1898 in Klagenfurt am Wörthersee , Carinthia ; † September 2, 1976 ibid) was an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ).

Life

After five classes in elementary school and three classes in community school , Wolfram Enzfelder entered civil service with the state railway in 1915 . After three years of training at a state trade school, he was licensed to work as a locomotive driver .

In 1919 Enzfeld became an assistant at the Post and Telegraph Directorate in Klagenfurt. Here he was appointed telegraph inspector in 1937 before he was demoted to a simple secretary after the annexation of Austria in 1938 . In 1945 he was promoted to the rank of chief inspector.

Enzfelder had been a social democrat since 1917 and therefore also active in the resistance against National Socialism . In June 1945 he became a member of the Regional Consultative Committee Piesch II under Governor Hans Piesch Regional Councilor . In December 1945, the Carinthian state parliament sent him to Vienna as a member of the Federal Council . Enzfelder served as Federal Councilor until November 1949.
