Wolfram Hausmann

Wolfram Hausmann (born October 3, 1922 in Pasing ; † January 15, 2006 in Krailling ) was a German geographer and university professor.

Live and act

Wolfram Hausmann studied geography in Munich and received his doctorate in 1953 under Hans Fehn with a thesis on the Oberallgäu flysch landscape. After his legal clerkship, he headed the secondary school in Lindau . From 1963 he taught geography didactics at the State Institute for the Training of Teachers at Realschulen in Munich, from 1974 to 1977 as professor for didactics at the University of Würzburg, from 1977 to 1986 at the University of Augsburg. His teaching activities, his involvement in the curriculum for secondary schools and his high-volume textbooks shaped the geography school subject in Bavaria for decades. During his time in Lindau, Hausmann represented the state of Bavaria on the board of the Association for the History of Lake Constance and its surroundings . Hausmann was the Bavarian hammer throw champion from 1946 to 1950 .
