Wolfram Plotzke (born August 18, 1908 in Stettin , † November 16, 1954 in Düsseldorf-Heerdt ) was a German Dominican and artist .

Life

His baptismal and stage name was Felix . He was the son of the postal inspector Felix Plotzke and his wife Ludmilla. His older brother Werner (1907-1983) was also a Dominican (religious name Urban).

After attending elementary school in Stettin for three years, he attended grammar schools in Stettin, Danzig and Vechta until he graduated from high school on March 31, 1927. Plotzke was dressed on September 15, 1927 in Venlo . He took the simple vows on September 16, 1928 in Venlo and the solemn vows on September 16, 1931 in Walberberg . He studied philosophy and theology between 1928 and 1935 at the Dominican University in Walberberg and Düsseldorf . The ordination received Plotzke on 28 July 1933, Cologne by Cardinal Schulte . After that, Father Wolfram was employed in pastoral care in Augsburg, Berlin and from 1939 in Schwichteler (Oldenburg) . After completing his theological studies in 1935, he was allowed to continue his education at a private art academy because of his painting talent. There he was trained as a painter and from 1938 to 1942 - at the same time as the pastoral commission in Schwichteler - he painted various churches. On January 13, 1939, Father Wolfram received the order from the province to "paint the church (in Schwichteler) and make it the most beautiful church in the area."

On April 14, 1942, Father Wolfram was reassigned to the Berlin Convention . From there he came to Mastholte in the Sauerland as a chaplain in 1944 (until 1952) . Afterwards, Father Wolfram devoted himself to extraordinary pastoral care in the Düsseldorf Convention and also to painting.
