Wolfram Viefhues

Wolfram Viefhues (* 1950 ) is a German lawyer.

Life

Viefhues studied law at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum and worked there as a lecturer during his legal clerkship . In 1976 he was appointed as a judge and was LG Krefeld , the AG Krefeld , the LG Duisburg and at the AG Wesel busy. From 1980 to 2015 he was a judge at the Oberhausen District Court and, as such, has been seconded to the IT department of the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court since 1993 . In 1993 he did his doctorate at the University of Saarland on the methodology of the comparative analysis of judicial software.

Viefhues has been working at the University of Bochum since 1978, and from 1985 to 1995 he taught at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in North Rhine-Westphalia in Duisburg . In the North Rhine-Westphalian state justice administration, he works in the field of IT development and is involved in several IT working groups in the state justice system, including as head of the project on electronic legal transactions in family matters.

Viefhues is the author of several specialist articles with a focus on IT law and family law, he is also co-editor of the magazine for family and inheritance law (ZFE) . In addition to Maximilian Herberger and Volker Nilgens, he is a member of the executive board of the German IT Court Conference .
