Wolfram Windisch

Wolfram Windisch (* 1969 ) is a German doctor specializing in internal medicine , especially pneumology .

Life

Windisch studied medicine in Göttingen and specialized in pneumology, i. H. Respiratory diseases and respiratory medicine . He completed his habilitation in 2005 on the diagnosis and therapy of chronic ventilatory insufficiency . After completing his studies, he moved to the University of Freiburg , where he last worked as a senior physician . He was appointed adjunct professor there in 2008. In April 2011 he became the chief physician of the lung clinic in the Cologne-Merheim hospital, taking over the management of the pulmonology department with a focus on pulmonology, respiratory medicine and sleep medicine .

He is the chairman of the German Interdisciplinary Society for Extra-Clinical Ventilation and was also the conference president of the Society's 16th annual conference in 2008.

Windisch works particularly in the field of out-of-hospital ventilation.

Windisch was awarded the Lilly Quality of Life Prize in 2008 together with Susanne Singer .
