organization
The Kliniken der Stadt Köln gGmbH comprises three hospitals in Cologne, which are managed by a joint central administration at the Holweide location . Going back to a council resolution in March 2004, in July 2004 the city's own operation became the non-profit GmbH (gGmbH) Kliniken der Stadt Köln gGmbH with the city of Cologne as the sole shareholder. The company was thus partially privatized. In 2014, the Cologne City Council sent eight people to the Supervisory Board. The workforce is represented by four people. All three parts of the company are KTQ certified. For outpatient medical diagnostics and therapy services (e.g. outpatient surgery ), the structures of the clinics are also used by resident doctors. Trivia
- In 2009, the proceedings for a personnel decision by the Supervisory Board on account of the alleged violation of the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG) were in the public interest. In the case in question, the chairman of the supervisory board of the City of Cologne Clinics had given the advanced age of the plaintiff as the reason why the plaintiff's employment contract was not extended. According to a judgment of the Federal Court of Justice (BGH), such a justification fulfills the criteria of age discrimination .
- The Cologne-Merheim hospital has already been the subject of documentaries several times . The production company Grundy Light Entertainment produced, for example, the articles Auf Leben und Tod: Emergency Doctors in Action (broadcast on May 7, 2011 on VOX ) and Between Moving Boxes and Emergencies - A Clinic under Construction (broadcast on August 18, 2012 on VOX) about work of the hospital.
- In 2004 , Til Schweiger shot scenes from his film Barefoot in the forest hospital near Rosbach , which belonged to the city clinics and where clinical operations were closed in 2002 .
- The clinics of the city of Cologne are partners of the Gesundheitskongress des Westens , an annual specialist congress for the health industry since 2007.
