The Wollangambe River is a river in the east of the Australian state of New South Wales .
It rises at Newes Junction , a small town east of Lithgow in the southwest corner of the Wollemi National Park . The river initially flows northeast to north of the small town of Mount Irvine . There it turns its course to the north and after about 20 kilometers back to the northeast. In the center of the national park it flows into the Colo River .
The river valley is largely uninhabited and not accessible by roads.
Its main tributaries are Bowens Creek and Bungleboori Creek .
