Woo Min-ho (* 1971 ) is a South Korean film director and screenwriter .

Life

Woo is a graduate of Chung-Ang University in film . During his time at Goldsmiths, University of London , he made his first short film, Who Killed Jesus? .

He is best known for his thriller Inside Men - The Revenge of Justice (2015). With over 9.1 million tickets sold, it is the most successful film in South Korean cinema history without a youth rating. For the film he received the prestigious Daejong film award in the categories of best director and best screenplay . In 2018, The Drug King, his next film about a crime syndicate, came out in Busan . In October 2018 filming began on the novel The Man Standing Next about the assassination attempt on Park Chung-hee , which was released in January 2020.
