The Arnhem Zuid Station is a transit station in the same district in the town of Arnhem , which in the Dutch province of Gelderland is. It is on the Arnhem – Nijmegen railway line .
history
In order to improve mobility in the municipality of Arnhem-Zuid, the majority of which arose after the end of the Second World War , it should be connected to local public transport by a new train station . The opening of the station was celebrated on December 10, 2005, when a steam locomotive from the Veluwsche Stoomtrein Maatschappij drove the route on the opening day. The official commissioning should take place on the following day, but no trains of the Nederlandse Spoorwegen stopped at the station. So the first train stopped on December 12th. The Dutch architect Edwin Megens of the studioSK design office , a division of the Movares engineering office , designed the plans for the new train station in Arnhem-Zuid.
In 2018, the Arnhem Zuid station was used by 3,222 passengers every day, an increase of ten percent compared to 2017.
