Worknesh Degefa (born October 28, 1990 ) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner .

Live and act

On April 21, 2013, she won the Yangzhou Jianzhen Half Marathon in 1:08:43 h.

In 2014 she won two half marathons. In mid-March the Lisbon half marathon in 1:08:46 h and on May 17th the Göteborgsvarvet in 1:10:12 h.

In 2015, she first won the Prague Half Marathon in 1:07:14 h in March and in May she repeated her success from the previous year at Göteborgsvarvet in 1:08:13 h. She also won the silver medal in the half marathon behind the Ethiopian Mamitu Daska at the Africa Games in Brazzaville .

In November 2016 she won the Delhi Half Marathon . In January 2017 she made her debut on the marathon distance in Dubai and surprisingly won in 2:22:36 h. She also won the Olomouc Half Marathon that year and came second in the World 10K Bangalore .

In 2018, she finished fourth in the Dubai Marathon. In 2019 she started again and finished second. Here she increased her personal best to 2:17:41 h. Almost three months later, she won the Boston Marathon in 2:23:31 hours. In 2020 she celebrated her second victory in her fourth participation in the Dubai Marathon in 2:19:38 h.
