Wrong turn

In the first film, a group of six friends are followed by the three cannibals One Eye , Saw Tooth, and Three Finger . Chris Flynn ( Desmond Harrington ) has to take a detour due to a traffic jam. He makes a wrong turn at a junction and drives into another vehicle that has already fallen victim to a street trap of the cannibal trio. Looking for help in the hut, the three monstrous miners belong and are hunted one after the other.

Wrong Turn 2: Dead End

The second film introduces other members of the cannibal family: Ma , Pa , brother and sister . Three Fingers and the Old Man at the Gas Station are the only recurring characters from the first film. This time, the cannibals are chasing a group of reality show participants who are taking part in a survival show.

Wrong Turn 3: Left For Dead

In the third part there is a group of prison officials and convicts. The returning character, Three Finger , has the prison inmates' transport bus stray off the street, causing the convicts to escape and kidnap surviving prison officers Nate ( Tom Frederic ) and Walter ( Chucky Venn ). On the run, the convicts and their prisoners stumble across a lost money truck, as well as Alex Miles ( Janet Montgomery ), who has been on the run since the death of her friends by Three Finger in the forest. When one of the prisoners kills Three Finger's nephew , he becomes angry and hunts the group even more intensely.

Wrong Turn 4: Bloody Beginnings

The fourth part of the series tells the history of the three cannibals from the first part and shows their childhood, which they had to spend in a mental hospital. However, the three brothers later escaped and killed all of the asylum's staff. The story then focuses on a group of nine teenagers who make a wrong turn on their snowmobile in search of their cabin. You end up in the old, abandoned asylum where One Eye , Saw Tooth and Three Finger still live. The friends decide to spend the night in the institution and are attacked by the three brothers.

Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines

The fifth part begins after the fourth part of the series and therefore also plays before the first part of the series. The film tells the story of the old man from the first part and reveals his name: Maynard. It turns out that Maynard is a serial killer who has been on the run for over thirty years and is now at odds with the three cannibal brothers. He repeatedly refers to them as his boys and his relatives. Throughout the film, the brothers attempt to get Maynard out of jail and kill the college students and sheriff Angela Carter ( Camilla Arfwedson ) while the rest of the town attends the festival.

Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort

The sixth film is an independent film and has no connection to the previous films. It thus serves as an alternative prehistory to the first part of the series and tells a different version of the past about the three cannibals and their families. Danny ( Anthony Ilott ) discovers his long-lost family when he brings his friends to Hobb Springs, a forgotten resort deep in the West Virginia Hills. Danny then has to choose between his family and friends, as these will be killed one by one by his family.

background

history

The first part was shown in the cinemas in 2003 and only achieved moderate success there. However, when the home cinema evaluation was extremely successful, two sequels and three prequels have been published directly on DVD or Blu-ray Disc since 2007 . The series developed into one of the most successful home theater series.

While the first part still pursued a serious tone, the series developed into a successful B-movie series with the sequels increasing due to the strong splatter effects and ironic narrative form . The increasing number of killing scenes also meant that the series was not published in Germany except for the first part and the sixth part.

Locations

While the films are set in the woods of West Virginia , most of the filming takes place in other regions or even countries. The shooting of the first part took place in Ontario , Canada . The second part was also shot in Canada. However, one switched to Vancouver here . The shooting for the third, fifth and sixth part was carried out in Bulgaria , while for the fourth part they temporarily moved back to Canada and chose the Brandon Mental Health Center in Brandon, Manitoba as the location.
