XHTML + SMIL

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

XHTML + SMIL is a note ( Note ) of the W3C , the integration of SMIL - semantics in XHTML and CSS describes. The grade is based on the submission HTML + TIME . The language is also known as HTML + SMIL.

The XHTML + SMIL language profile shares many modules with the SMIL language profile, including the core modules timing, media objects, linking, animation, transitions and content control. Where the other SMIL profiles use a language-specific layout model, XHTML + SMIL makes good use of the HTML flow layout and CSS positioning model that most web developers are familiar with. The semantics of integrating SMIL animations into the CSS model was also used in scalable vector graphics .

XHTML + SMIL was drawn up as a W3C note rather than a recommendation because there was only one implementation of the language profile (in Microsoft Internet Explorer ).
