Serge Alexander (Xander) de Buisonje (born July 19, 1973 in Voorburg ) is a Dutch singer who sings in Dutch and English .

biography

De Buisonjé completed the Havo at the Lorentz Casimir Lyceum in Eindhoven. He first gained fame with the Maastricht band Volumia! , which had its last appearance on April 18, 2002. One of their most successful songs was Afscheid , which reached fourth place in the Dutch Top 40 .

During the farewell concert in the Amsterdam Arena for André Hazes , who died in September 2004 , De Buisonjé sang Hazes hit Zij looped in mij (She believes in me). De Buisonjé took a break and gave a concert at the Heineken Music Hall in the fall of 2005.

In 2010 he presented De vrienden van Amstel LIVE at Ahoy Rotterdam .

In 2012 the song De wereld redden was released as part of the release of his live album Xander in Concert . The song was a tribute to the German singer Tim Bendzko and his song Just a short time to save the world . The song reached number 33 on the Dutch charts. The album became De Buisonjé's first number one album of his career.

Private life

In 2003, De Buisonjé caused a scandal after it was discovered shortly before the wedding with Wendy van Dijk that he had repeatedly cheated on her. She then refused to marry him, even though she was expecting a child from him. He later recognized his son Sem and took care of him.

After his son Dex was born to his girlfriend Sophie Steger on January 26, 2010, he married her on June 26, 2010.
