Just save the world for a moment is a song by the German singer-songwriter Tim Bendzko . Laut.de writes that the song takes “one by the hand” and holds “a mirror in front of your eyes”. The song was produced by Swen Meyer at the Hamburger Festland Studios and was pre-released as a single by Sony Music Entertainment seven days before the release of the debut CD If Words Were My Language on June 17, 2011.

History of origin

According to his own statement, Tim Bendzko was sitting with two musicians and they wanted to write a song. The idea for this song title came up. Bendzko remembered his mother's partner. He always said this sentence when he went to computer games to avoid tasks. So it quickly became clear that the song was about just pretending to be doing something very important in order to actually have free time .

Song content

The song describes how someone put off a person waiting for him because he is busy with other things ( only briefly save the world , check 148 more emails ).

Music genre

The song is a jazzy pop song with the slightly soulful voice typical of Bendzko . His musical style is often compared with Xavier Naidoo , Laith Al-Deen , Roger Cicero , Max Mutzke or Annett Louisan .

Cover versions

In 2012 the singer Xander de Buisonjé released De wereld redden , a version of the song in Dutch. The title reached number five on the hit parade in the Netherlands. Cover versions in German were published by Peter Kraus on the Zeitensprung album (March 21, 2014) and by Adoro on the Nah bei dir album (November 7, 2014).
