Xanemos ( Greek Ξάνεμος , ( m. Sg. )) Is a settlement on the east coast of the Sporades island of Skiathos in the immediate vicinity of Alexandros Papadiamantis Airport . A little further to the northwest is Kalyvia . There are three beaches with a view of Skopelos Island (Xanemos, Glyfoneri, Mikros Xanemos). The townscape is determined by a few hotels. The prehistoric fortification on the Kephala Peninsula has been identified with the ancient Polis Palaiskiathos mentioned in the Periplus des Skylax .
