Career

Amigo contested his first rally in the World Rally Championship in Catalonia in 1996 as the co-driver of Marc Blázquez in a Peugeot 205 . This participation ended in failure. In the 1999 World Rally Championship , Amigo had to retire as Michael Huete's co-driver in the SEAT Ibiza , also at the Catalonia Rally , but was 34th for the first time in the Portugal Rally . After he could not achieve any placements in 2000 , Amigo switched to the 2001 World Rally Championship as a co-driver in Alejandro Galanti's vehicle . With him he reached fourth place in the Junior World Championship. After another year in Galanti's car, Amigo switched to Salvador Cañellas’s car for the 2004 World Rally Championship , with whom he took top places in the junior ranking. In the year 2004 moved Amigo in the Mitsubishi Lancer of Daniel Solà . Due to accidents and technical defects, he couldn't achieve top ranks with Solà. Also in the 2005 season Amigo had to finish four of six rallies started after an accident. In 2006 he won a competition with Solà for the first time at the Rallye la Vila Joiosa . Amigo was also successful at the Costa Brava rally and the Principe de Asturias rally . In 2007 he switched to Xavier Pons ' car for a year before Amigo was a co-driver for Jordi Zurita in the Mitsubishi Lancer from 2008 . He contested his last rally in 2007 at the Rally Great Britain , which Amigo finished in ninth place. Amigo caused a stir when driver Pons insulted him at the 2006 Rallye Germany so much that he began to cry. Pons later apologized.
