Xavier Girard (born February 14, 1970 in Saint-Martin-d'Hères ) is a former French Nordic combined skier .
Career
Xavier Girard took part with the French team in the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary . Together with Jean-Pierre Bohard and Fabrice Guy , he finished eighth in the team competition. In the individual he reached the 32nd place.
His first place in the points at a competition within the Nordic Combined World Cup he achieved on December 29, 1988 with a 15th place in Oberwiesenthal . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 1989 in Vang , Norway , he won the silver medal in a team competition with Bohard and Francis Repellin . On March 25, 1989, he achieved his first and only podium finish in the World Cup with second place in Thunder Bay, Canada . At the end of the 1988/89 season, his 19th place was also his best place in the overall World Cup.
Girard also went in the Nordic World Ski Championships 1991 in the Italian Val di Fiemme at the start and was with Repellin and Guy second in the team competition, which is the biggest success of his career. At the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville , he was 13th in the individual.
