Dževat Prekazi (Albanian: Xhevat Prekazi, Serbian-Cyrillic: Џеват Прекази, Turkish: Cevad Prekazi, born August 18, 1957 in Kosovska Mitrovica , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Yugoslav football player . In addition to the Serbian, he also has a Turkish passport. Today Prekazi lives in Belgrade . Through his many years of work for Partizan and Galatasaray Istanbul and the successes he has achieved, he is strongly associated with this club. On fan and club pages he is described as one of the most important players in club history. He is currently a youth coach at OFK Belgrade .
Club career
At the age of 13 Prekazi started playing football at FK Trepča . After five years in Trepča's youth department, he joined Partizan Belgrade in 1976. With the Belgrade team he was Yugoslav champions in 1978 and 1983 , reached the Yugoslav Cup final in 1979 and won the Mitropa Cup in 1978 .
After more than 150 missions in seven years, Prekazi moved to Hajduk Split in 1983 . In his first season in Split he managed to win the Yugoslav Cup with his team. However, he could not really establish himself in the team, he only played 19 games in two seasons, and left the club after two years. From 1985 to 1991 Prekazi played very successfully for Galatasaray Istanbul . Previously, Zoran Simović should have inspired him to change. There he contributed 169 league games, in which he scored 41 goals, to two championships (1987 and 1988) and one runner-up (1986). In addition, the team won the Turkish Cup in 1991 and made it to the semi-finals of the European Cup in 1989 . At the end of his career, Prekazi still played for Altay İzmir and Bakırköyspor , but he only played a few games for both clubs.
