XiWang-2F , XW-2F for short , also CAS-3F , is a Chinese amateur radio satellite . XiWang is Mandarin and means hope. CAS stands for Chinese amateur radio satellite. This satellite was developed by the Chinese amateur radio satellite group, CAMSAT. The satellite has the shape of a cube with an edge length of 116 mm and is thus similar to a 1U CubeSat , but does not meet the CubeSat specifications . The satellite is wide with a 20 kHz U / V transponder , a CW telemetry - Bake and a digital telemetry downlink equipped. Two rod antennas serve as antennas . The XiWang-2F (CAS-3F) satellite is identical to the XiWang-2E (CAS-3E) satellite .

mission

The satellite was launched on September 19, 2015 on a Langer March 6 launcher from the Taiyuan Cosmodrome in China together with 20 other small satellites, including nine other satellites of the CAS 3 series. An orbital lifespan of 8.5 years is expected.

Frequencies

The following frequencies for the satellite were coordinated by the International Amateur Radio Union :

  • 435.330 MHz - 435.350 uplink
  • 145.980 MHz - 146,000 downlink (power 20 dBm )
  • 145.975 MHz CW beacon (22 WpM / power 17 dBm)
  • 145.955 MHz digital telemetry 9k6 / 19k2 GMSK (power 20 dBm)
