Tianqin-1 ( CAS-6 ) is a Chinese microsatellite that serves as a research satellite for the Chinese Gravitational Wave Astronomy Program and also carries a payload for amateur radio communication and training. CAS stands for Chinese amateur radio satellite. The satellite was produced by DFH Satellite Co. Ltd. built in Beijing for Sun Yat-sen University and Central China University of Science and Technology . The satellite consists of a 490 mm × 499 mm × 430 mm cube with solar cells mounted on the surface and has a mass of approximately 35 kg. The payload is a CW telemetry - Bake , a 20-kHz linear transponder in the U / V mode and an atmospheric wind detector. The satellite is three-axis stabilized.

mission

Tianqin-1 was originally intended to be launched the first time a CZ-11H missile was launched at sea, but was not on board. Instead, the satellite was launched on December 20, 2019 on a Langer March 4B launcher from the Taiyuan Cosmodrome together with CBRS-4A and other satellites.
Alan Kung, BA1DU reported that on June 20, 2020 the VHF / UHF antenna deployed and the linear transponder activated. CW beacon and GMSK telemetry do not work properly due to errors in the on-board computer. The linear transponder was put into operation.
The OSCAR number administrator of AMSAT - North America has assigned the number 108 to this satellite. The satellite is therefore also called TQ-OSCAR 108, or TO-108 for short, in the amateur radio community.
