Long March 6
Long March 6 , LM-6 for short ( Chinese 長征 六號 / 长征 六号 , Pinyin Chángzhēng liùhào , CZ-6 for short ) refers to a smaller three-stage launcher of the People's Republic of China . It is part of the Long March series launched from the Taiyuan Cosmodrome .
The rocket was developed by the Shanghai Academy of Space Technology (SAST), a subsidiary of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
Technical specifications
The first stage of the rocket (like the Langer Marsch 7 ) is based on one of the two booster types of the Langer Marsch 5 rocket and has the YF-100 engine, newly developed for the rocket family , which is based on the technology of the Russian RD-120. The newly developed K2-2 with the also newly developed YF-115 engine is used as the second stage. The multiple ignitable third stage can deploy several satellites in different orbits.
A version 6A with four additional boosters is in development for the transport of larger payloads. It should start for the first time in 2020. Plans from 2013 envisage a payload capacity of 4 tons for sun-synchronous orbits (SSO).
