Xu Li

Xu Li (born November 17, 1989 in Suzhou , Anhui Province ) is a Chinese wrestler . She won a silver medal in the weight class up to 55 kg body weight at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 .

Career

Xu Li started wrestling as a teenager in 2002. She is a member of the Anhui Wrestling Club. Your trainer is Qu Zhongdong.

Nothing is known about their development in youth and in China. She first appeared on the international wrestling stage in 2007 when she was used at the world championship in Baku and the weight class up to 55 kg at the age of eighteen . She lost her first fight there against Natalja Golz from Russia and was eliminated because she did not reach the final. In the final accounts she only came in 28th place.

In 2008 she won her first medal at an international championship. In Jeju / South Korea she came third at the Asian Championships behind Saori Yoshida from Japan and Saltanat Abdrachmanowa from Kazakhstan . In the same year it was also used at the Olympic Games in Beijing . She won there over Ana Maria Pavăl from Romania , Olga Smirnowa from Kazakhstan and Jackeline Rentería from Colombia, but lost in the final to favorite Saori Yoshida by points (0: 2 rounds, 0: 7 points) and thus won an Olympic silver medal .

In 2009, in Taiyuan / China , Xu Li won the individual classification in the weight class up to 55 kg in Taiyuan / China, ahead of Tonya Verbeek , Canada , Chikako Matsukawa , Japan and Leigh Jaynes from the United States .

In 2010 and 2011, Xu Li was no longer used in any international championships.

In February 2012 she started for China at the Asian Championship in Gumi / South Korea. But she disappointed there and only came in 7th place.
