Yasin Çelik (born April 8, 1975 in Sakarya ) is a former Turkish football player and coach. Due to his many years of activity for Sakaryaspor and Konyaspor , he is associated with these associations.

Player career

society

Çelik started his professional football career in the summer of 1997 at the most famous football club in his home province Sakarya at the then second division Sakaryaspor . He managed to jump into the starting eleven here. Due to his convincing performance, he was nominated for the Turkish national team despite his second division activity and also made his international debut. At the end of the season he was with Sakaryaspor play-off winner of the 2nd Lig and rose to the 1st Lig . Promoted to the 1st Lig with Sakaryaspor, Çelik defended his regular place and played injury and suspension-related failures in almost all league matches of his team. When Sakaryaspor missed relegation at the end of the season, Çelik was loyal to his club and went into the second division. After the first division club MKE Ankaragücü expressed interest in Çelik at the end of October 1996 , this was loaned to Ankaragücü. At the end of the season he returned to Sakaryaspor and played here two seasons in the second-highest division in Turkish football.

After Sakaryaspor missed promotion in these two seasons in the now renamed Süper Lig top division, Çelik left for the summer of 2002 with his contract expiration Sakaryaspor and switched to league rivals Konyaspor. With this club one reached the championship of the 2nd Lig in the summer of 2003 and thus the direct promotion to the Süper Lig. Çelik contributed significantly to this success with his services. For the next three and a half years he had a regular place at Konyaspor and was also a team captain.

For the second half of the 2006/07 season he left Konyaspor and moved within the league to his old club Ankaragücü. For this club he played the next year and moved to his old club, the second division Sakaryaspor , in the spring of 2008 .

After half a year at Sakaryaspor, he left this club and switched to league rivals Kartalspor . He then played for this club for a season and then ended his active football career.

National team

Due to his shown performances at the second division Sakaryaspor Çelik was nominated by the then national coach Mustafa Denizli as part of a test match against Russia in the squad of the Turkish national team . In this game from April 22, 1998, he came on in the 80th minute for Okan Buruk and completed his first and only international match.

Coaching career

Immediately after his football playing career, he began his coaching career. The first job he took over at Kırkpınarspor in the summer of 2009 was the head coach position and looked after this team for about two seasons. In the 2012/13 season he took over the post of assistant coach at third division Anadolu Selçukluspor and assisted head coach Mustafa Çapanoğlu .
