Yassine Benzia ( Arabic ياسين بنزية, DMG Yāsīn Binziyya ; * September 8, 1994 in Saint-Aubin-lès-Elbeuf , France ) is a French football player of Algerian origin who has been under contract with FCO Dijon since January 2020 .
Career
Olympique Lyon
Benzia entered the Olympique Lyon Youth Academy in 2010 . Before that, he played for several smaller clubs. On October 27, 2011 he signed his first professional contract, which is endowed for three years.
On May 20, 2012 he made his competitive debut against OGC Nice .
For the 2012/13 season he was part of the professional squad. In Ligue 1 he only came to short appearances in the closing stages of the games. He played a bigger role for Lyon in the UEFA Europa League . He made his first international game against Hapoel Ironi Kirjat Schmona on October 4, 2012, when he came on for Clément Grenier in the 54th minute . In the games of the group stage of the Europa League against Sparta Prague on November 22, 2012 and in the second leg against Hapoel Schmona on November 6, 2012, he scored one goal each.
